Wati WhatsApp API pricing in India, explained, and five alternatives compared
Wati's plan price is one of four numbers on its pricing page that decide your bill. We read that page and its rate cards on 7 October 2026, did the same for five alternatives, and priced one eight-person team on all six.
The short version
- As listed on 7 Oct 2026, Wati's plans are Growth at ₹2,999, Pro at ₹6,499 and Business at ₹18,499 a month on monthly billing, with 3, 5 and 5 users included.
- Wati bills WhatsApp messages from its own rate card. For Indian numbers the Growth card lists ₹1.0357 per marketing message, ₹0.1495 per utility message and ₹0.1380 per service message after the free 1,000.
- Growth can't add users. Extra users cost ₹1,299 a month each on Pro and ₹2,199 on Business, so team size moves the bill more than the plan name does.
- For an eight-person team sending 6,000 marketing messages a month, the six published price lists give totals from about ₹9,100 to about ₹16,900 before GST.
- Wati lists HubSpot, Salesforce, Instagram, Messenger and TikTok. If you need those, it covers ground that several alternatives here, including ours, don't.
Wati WhatsApp API pricing in India has four moving parts: the plan, the number of users, Wati’s own per-message rate card, and add-ons. The plan price is the one on the banner. The other three are where two teams on the same plan end up with very different bills.
We make Conecxt, one of the products compared here. So every figure below comes from each company’s own public pages, read on 7 October 2026, and each page is in the sources list. Where a page didn’t publish a number, the table says “not published”. Prices change, so check the live page before you sign.
What does Wati cost per month in India?
Wati lists three subscription plans, Growth, Pro and Business, at ₹2,999, ₹6,499 and ₹18,499 a month on monthly billing, as listed on 7 Oct 2026. Quarterly and annual billing bring the monthly figure down.
| Growth | Pro | Business | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Per month, billed monthly | ₹2,999 | ₹6,499 | ₹18,499 |
| Per month, billed quarterly | ₹2,699 | ₹5,799 | ₹16,799 |
| Per month, billed annually | ₹2,199 | ₹4,899 | ₹14,799 |
| Users included | 3 | 5 | 5 |
| Additional users | Not available | ₹1,299 per user a month | ₹2,199 per user a month |
| Broadcasts | 15k a month | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Automation triggers | 1,000 | 2,000 | 5,000 |
| Wati AI credits | 2,000 | 5,000 | 20,000 |
| AI agents | 1 | 2 | Unlimited |
The page advertises a 7-day free trial and no setup fee. It doesn’t say whether the plan prices include GST.
There is also a pay-as-you-go plan with no subscription, aimed at businesses that only send bulk campaigns. It’s a single-user plan: you pay ₹999 once and get ₹999 back as message credits, which the page says covers up to 500 messages. The account is valid for three months, and sending regularly extends it.
Two lines from Wati’s own FAQ are worth reading before you pay. It accepts credit cards enabled for international online transactions, with bank transfer available on annual plans. And there are no cancellation fees, but it doesn’t refund payments already made for a subscription or credits.
What does Wati charge per WhatsApp message?
Wati bills WhatsApp messages from its own rate card, which differs by plan. Each plan on the pricing page links to a PDF card, and all three are dated 1 October 2026.
For messages to Indian numbers, the cards list:
| Per delivered message (India) | Marketing | Utility | Authentication | Service, after the free 1,000 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Meta’s list price | ₹0.8631 | ₹0.115 | ₹0.115 | ₹0.115 |
| Wati Growth | ₹1.0357 | ₹0.1495 | ₹0.1495 | ₹0.1380 |
| Wati Pro | ₹0.9926 | ₹0.1495 | ₹0.1495 | ₹0.1380 |
| Wati Business | ₹0.9667 | ₹0.1380 | ₹0.1380 | ₹0.1231 |
Meta’s row is its India rate card effective 1 October 2026, before GST. Wati’s cards don’t say whether GST is included.
The gap looks small per message. On Growth, a marketing message costs ₹0.1726 more than Meta’s list price, so 10,000 marketing messages a month is ₹1,726 on top of the plan. That’s a provider’s margin, and charging one is a normal way to run this business. The useful thing is to see it as its own line when you compare, which is the first of the twelve questions we’d ask any provider.
Wati’s cards also note that every business gets 1,000 free service messages a month. Service messages are the free-form replies your team sends inside the 24-hour window; they stopped being free without limit on 1 October 2026. Our cost guide explains that change, and the glossary covers the terms.
Which Wati add-ons change the bill?
Four add-ons carry a published price, and the one most teams meet first is the per-user charge in the plan table above.
| Add-on | Price as listed on 7 Oct 2026 |
|---|---|
| 1,000 automation triggers | ₹1,000 a month |
| 2,000 AI Co-pilot credits | ₹1,600 a month |
| Shopify integration | $4.99 a month |
| Additional WhatsApp number | ₹2,499 a month per number |
Automation triggers need a moment’s thought. Wati’s FAQ says every time a chatbot, keyword or other rule fires for a customer, it counts, and beyond the plan’s allowance “you will have to respond to your customers manually”. A team with a busy menu bot should estimate its monthly triggers before choosing Growth.
Dedicated onboarding, technical account management and professional services are listed as “Custom”, so there’s no published number to quote.
How many people can use the Wati WhatsApp team inbox?
Three on Growth, five on Pro and five on Business, with paid extra users on the top two plans only. The pricing page says of Growth: “No additional users and MAC”.
Assignment also changes by plan. Wati’s comparison page lists Growth as manual assigning with no routing, Pro as team or operator routing, and Business as round robin routing. If your reason for leaving shared phones is that enquiries sit unowned, check which of those you need. Our shared inbox setup guide describes what to decide before you pick any tool.
How do five Wati alternatives compare on price?
On published prices, the five alternatives differ from Wati mainly in seats and in the per-message rate. The table uses each company’s entry paid plan for WhatsApp and its shortest listed billing period.
| Entry paid plan (7 Oct 2026) | People included | Extra person | Marketing message, India | Utility message, India | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Wati Growth | ₹2,999 a month | 3 users | Not available on Growth | ₹1.0357 | ₹0.1495 |
| AiSensy Basic | ₹1,500 a month | 1 owner + 5 agents | ₹750 a month | ₹1.09 | ₹0.145 |
| Interakt Growth | ₹2,799 a month (+taxes) | Unlimited agents | Not applicable | ₹0.958 | ₹0.150 |
| Gallabox Basic | ₹2,999 a month, billed quarterly | 3 users (hard cap) | Not available on Basic | ₹0.9926 | ₹0.1323 |
| DoubleTick Starter | ₹3,500 a month, billed quarterly (+GST) | 5 agents | Not published | ₹0.99 | ₹0.1294 |
| Conecxt Basic | ₹2,499 a month, excluding taxes | 5 team members | ₹1,999 a month for 5 | Meta’s rate card, billed by Meta | Meta’s rate card, billed by Meta |
Some notes the table can’t hold:
- AiSensy also has a Free Forever plan at ₹0, without broadcasting.
- Interakt lists a Starter plan at ₹999 a month, but on monthly billing its page shows that plan as Instagram only. On quarterly billing Starter is ₹3,499 a quarter for one channel of your choice.
- Gallabox and DoubleTick show quarterly and yearly billing only. DoubleTick’s page says it doesn’t offer a free trial.
- With Conecxt, businesses add their own payment method in Meta Business Manager and Meta bills them at its rate card. You pay two parties.
What would one eight-person team pay on each?
Between about ₹9,100 and about ₹16,900 a month before GST, using only the published numbers above. The spread comes mostly from how each provider charges for people.
The team is illustrative. Vasundhara Reddy runs a modular kitchen showroom in Vijayawada, and eight people reply to customers from one WhatsApp number: two at the front desk, four designers, an installer coordinator and her. Our assumptions:
- 8 users, 1 WhatsApp number, fewer than 10,000 contacts
- 6,000 marketing messages a month, all to Indian numbers
- 2,000 utility templates a month (site-visit and installation reminders)
- 3,000 service replies a month, so 2,000 are charged after the free 1,000
- Monthly billing where it’s offered, otherwise the shortest listed term
- No AI or chatbot add-ons, no GST, and every provider rate treated as before tax
| Provider | Plan that fits 8 people | Platform per month | Message charges | Total per month |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Interakt | Growth, unlimited agents | ₹2,799 | ₹6,304.00 | ₹9,103.00 |
| Conecxt | Growth, 10 team members | ₹4,299 | ₹5,638.60 (paid to Meta) | ₹9,937.60 |
| AiSensy | Basic + 2 agents at ₹750 | ₹3,000 | ₹7,120.00 | ₹10,120.00 |
| DoubleTick | Pro (without AI agents), 10 agents | ₹5,200 | ₹6,457.60 | ₹11,657.60 |
| Gallabox | Essential + 2 users at ₹1,200 | ₹9,399 | ₹6,484.80 | ₹15,883.80 |
| Wati | Pro + 3 users at ₹1,299 | ₹10,396 | ₹6,530.60 | ₹16,926.60 |
The Wati line, worked through: Growth stops at three users, so the team needs Pro at ₹6,499 plus three extra users at ₹1,299, which is ₹10,396. Messages on the Pro card are 6,000 × ₹0.9926 = ₹5,955.60, 2,000 × ₹0.1495 = ₹299 and 2,000 × ₹0.1380 = ₹276. Every other row uses the same sum with that provider’s rates.
Four caveats. Interakt’s Starter plan on quarterly billing (₹3,499 a quarter, one channel) would come to about ₹7,564 a month at its own rates; its page lists agents on Starter as “Owner Roles”, so check that suits a team of eight. DoubleTick doesn’t publish an extra-agent price, so we couldn’t price its Starter plan with three more agents and used the next plan up: Pro, listed at ₹5,200 a month billed quarterly when the page’s AI agents option is switched off (₹9,200 with AI agents). An earlier version of this table used the ₹9,200 price; we corrected it on 9 Oct 2026. The higher plans at Wati, Gallabox and DoubleTick include AI credits and other features this team didn’t ask for, so the totals compare cost for this team, not value. And a five-person team would produce a different order: Wati Pro would need no extra users at all.
When is Wati the better choice?
Wati is the stronger fit when you need things its page lists and others don’t. None of this is a judgement on how well any product works; it’s what each company publishes.
Wati lists HubSpot integration on Pro and Salesforce on Business. It lists Instagram, Facebook Messenger, TikTok and RCS as channels, with SMS on Business, and Voice AI on Business. Its pay-as-you-go plan suits someone who sends a few hundred campaign messages a quarter and wants no subscription. If any of those is on your must-have list, start with Wati.
AiSensy has a free plan and the lowest paid entry price here. Interakt lists unlimited agents on every plan, so its price doesn’t rise with team size. Gallabox includes an Instagram handle and a web widget on every plan, and lists HubSpot integration from Essential. DoubleTick’s Pro plan includes AI voice call minutes.
Run your own numbers
Swap in your own figures for Vasundhara’s: people who reply, marketing messages, utility templates, and service replies past the first 1,000. Then price your top three providers at that size, on the billing period you’d really choose, and ask each one in writing whether its message rates include GST. That last answer wasn’t on any rate page we read.
