Which WhatsApp platforms businesses use, by country: evidence from 8.5 million websites
A buyer in Bogotá, Jakarta or Jaipur wants to know what businesses like theirs actually run. We sorted the platform code on 8,497,286 .com homepages by the country of the WhatsApp number beside it. The counts are small, they are floors, and they still show a different set of names in almost every market.
The short version
- Across 8,497,286 .com homepages in Common Crawl's August 2026 archive, a WhatsApp platform fingerprint sits beside a country's number on 1.0% of Colombian-numbered pages, 0.9% of Indian, 0.8% of Argentine and 0.7% of Mexican ones. Most countries are well under 1%.
- The vendor detected most often differs by country: Weni in Colombia (36) and Brazil (24), Kommo in Mexico (18), Mekari Qontak in Indonesia (33), respond.io in the US and Canada (40), Insider in Turkey (11), Interakt and the AiSensy widget in India (61 each).
- Some vendors appear in many countries' lists: Salesforce in ten of the eleven we broke out, Manychat in nine, respond.io in eight. Others cluster in one market, such as Mekari Qontak in Indonesia and Spoki in Italy.
- A fingerprint only catches vendor code on the homepage. Tools that run behind a plain wa.me link, Conecxt included, are invisible to it, so every count is a floor.
We make Conecxt, one of the WhatsApp platforms in this category.
“Which WhatsApp platform do businesses here use?” has a different answer in Bogotá, Jakarta and Jaipur, and we know of no published count. So we looked at what businesses put on their own websites. In August 2026 Common Crawl’s archive held 8,497,286 .com homepages; we read each one for a WhatsApp click-to-chat link, the code or domain of 137 WhatsApp platform and chatbot vendors, and a generic chat widget, and placed each page in a country by the calling code of its WhatsApp number. The full method is in our study of Indian websites.
The caveats that matter here: we read homepages only, and only .com; a page counts for a country because of its number’s calling code, not where the business is registered; and a fingerprint undercounts platform use. Conecxt leaves no homepage fingerprint, so it is absent from every table below.
What a fingerprint is, and what it misses
A fingerprint is a vendor’s own domain, or a token its widget script leaves, found in the homepage HTML. It is reliable when it fires. A page carrying a vendor’s chat button really does run that vendor’s code.
It misses far more than it finds. A business that runs a provider’s shared inbox through the API, but puts a plain wa.me button on its site, looks exactly like a business answering from one phone. Of the 420,673 .com homepages with a WhatsApp link, 418,944 show no platform at all, and some unknown share of them are platform customers we can’t see. API-only tools, ours among them, never show up.
It also overstates a few names. Salesforce, Twilio, HubSpot and Zendesk sell many things besides WhatsApp; their code on a page means “uses something from that vendor”, not “messages on WhatsApp through it”. Several other vendors on Meta’s partner list also sell more than WhatsApp, so read every row as “this vendor’s code is on the page”.
The country counts below only include platform pages that also carry a readable number, so they are a floor on a floor.
Which countries have the most platform-managed WhatsApp?
None has many. Sorted by share, the platform fingerprint rate on numbered WhatsApp pages looks like this:
| Country of the WhatsApp number | .com homepages with that country’s number | With a platform fingerprint | Share |
|---|---|---|---|
| Colombia | 8,624 | 83 | 1.0% |
| India | 43,025 | 382 | 0.9% |
| Argentina | 6,848 | 53 | 0.8% |
| Mexico | 10,882 | 79 | 0.7% |
| Hong Kong | 3,958 | 29 | 0.7% |
| Brazil | 14,356 | 79 | 0.6% |
| UAE | 9,921 | 63 | 0.6% |
| US and Canada | 20,530 | 105 | 0.5% |
| Peru | 3,882 | 19 | 0.5% |
| Russia and Kazakhstan (+7) | 6,532 | 26 | 0.4% |
| Malaysia | 6,084 | 22 | 0.4% |
| Pakistan | 4,682 | 17 | 0.4% |
| Indonesia | 24,333 | 84 | 0.3% |
| UK | 8,332 | 22 | 0.3% |
| Saudi Arabia | 4,874 | 15 | 0.3% |
| Israel | 4,825 | 15 | 0.3% |
| France | 4,568 | 10 | 0.2% |
| Turkey | 26,894 | 38 | 0.1% |
| Spain | 25,390 | 37 | 0.1% |
| China | 20,049 | 12 | 0.1% |
| Italy | 10,683 | 16 | 0.1% |
| Germany | 4,288 | 6 | 0.1% |
| Egypt | 4,251 | 5 | 0.1% |
Iran (7,703 pages, 23 with a fingerprint) also sits at 0.3%. Singapore, the Netherlands, Bangladesh, Thailand and Morocco show no fingerprint on any numbered page.
Latin America, India and Hong Kong lead, and even there it is about one page in a hundred. Turkey and Spain are the second and third largest countries in the ranking by WhatsApp numbers, and they sit at 0.1%. For a buyer that has a plain meaning: in most markets a competitor’s WhatsApp button shows no sign of a platform behind it, though some will run one we can’t see.
Country by country
Each list is the eight vendors detected most often on .com homepages carrying that country’s number (for India we have the full list, and show the first eleven). A page can carry more than one vendor.
India
382 platform pages among 43,025. Interakt 61, the AiSensy widget 61, Salesforce 45, Wati 32, Gallabox 29, LimeChat 26, Zoko 24, Yellow.ai 16, then BIK 15, Verloop 14 and MSG91 13. Four of the top eight (Interakt, Gallabox, LimeChat and Zoko) are among the 15 WhatsApp tools common in India that we added to our detector list because our copy of Meta’s partner directory didn’t include them. Which WhatsApp platforms Indian websites use adds the 113,102 .in homepages and the industry split.
Indonesia
84 platform pages among 24,333. Mekari Qontak 33, Salesforce 13, Insider 7, respond.io 6, Qiscus 4, Pancake 4, Indosat Biz 3, SleekFlow 2. Mekari Qontak is on 33 of the 84 Indonesian platform pages, close to two in five, and four of the eight names (Mekari Qontak, Qiscus, Pancake and Indosat Biz) appear in no other country’s list.
Brazil
79 platform pages among 14,356. Weni 24, Salesforce 12, Blip 10, Kommo 9, Manychat 5, SendPulse 4, Insider 3, respond.io 3. Blip appears in Brazil’s list and nowhere else we broke out.
Mexico
79 platform pages among 10,882. Kommo 18, Salesforce 11, respond.io 10, Manychat 9, Callbell 6, Weni 6, Twilio 3, Wati 3. Kommo’s 18 is under a quarter of Mexico’s 79 platform pages, and Weni, which leads in Colombia and Brazil, is here too.
Colombia
83 platform pages among 8,624, the highest share of any country. Weni 36, Kommo 11, Salesforce 9, Manychat 6, Twilio 4, Botmaker 3, SendPulse 2, Insider 2. Weni’s 36 is the largest count for any vendor in a Latin American country.
US and Canada
105 platform pages among 20,530 numbers starting +1. respond.io 40, Salesforce 12, Kommo 10, Manychat 9, Twilio 6, SendPulse 3, the AiSensy widget 3, Wati 3.
Turkey
38 platform pages among 26,894. Insider 11, Kommo 9, SendPulse 6, respond.io 4, Manychat 2, Gallabox 2, Braze 1, Salesforce 1.
Spain
37 platform pages among 25,390. Salesforce 8, Manychat 7, SendPulse 6, Callbell 5, respond.io 3, Braze 2, Zoko 2, Spoki 2.
UAE
63 platform pages among 9,921. Salesforce 12, respond.io 8, Gallabox 6, Twilio 6, Zoko 4, the AiSensy widget 4, Engati 4, Wati 4. Four vendors from India’s list (Gallabox, Zoko, the AiSensy widget and Wati) also make the UAE’s top eight, more than in any other country.
Italy
16 platform pages among 10,683. Manychat 6, Spoki 5, Callbell 3, SendPulse 2, Braze 1, treble.ai 1.
China
12 platform pages among 20,049. YCloud 3, Alibaba Cloud 2, SendPulse 2, Wati 2, Manychat 2, Salesforce 1, Edna 1, Wati’s Shopify app 1. Twelve pages is too few to call anything a pattern.
We didn’t break out vendors for the UK, Argentina, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia or the other ranked countries; their platform counts are in the table above.
Vendors that travel, and vendors that stay home
Read the lists the other way and two kinds of vendor appear. The second column is the vendor’s total across all .com homepages; the third is where it shows up in the eleven country lists above. A blank doesn’t mean zero, because outside India we only have each country’s top eight.
| Vendor | .com homepages worldwide | Appears in these country lists (count) |
|---|---|---|
| Salesforce | 7,470 | India 45, Indonesia 13, US and Canada 12, Brazil 12, UAE 12, Mexico 11, Colombia 9, Spain 8, Turkey 1, China 1 |
| Manychat | 1,368 | US and Canada 9, Mexico 9, Spain 7, Italy 6, Colombia 6, Brazil 5, India 4, Turkey 2, China 2 |
| respond.io | 424 | US and Canada 40, Mexico 10, UAE 8, Indonesia 6, India 6, Turkey 4, Spain 3, Brazil 3 |
| SendPulse | 553 | Turkey 6, Spain 6, Brazil 4, US and Canada 3, Italy 2, China 2, Colombia 2 |
| Kommo | 318 | Mexico 18, Colombia 11, US and Canada 10, Turkey 9, Brazil 9, India 2 |
| Twilio | 1,817 | UAE 6, US and Canada 6, Colombia 4, India 4, Mexico 3 |
| Weni | 263 | Colombia 36, Brazil 24, Mexico 6 |
| Wati | 292 | India 32, UAE 4, US and Canada 3, Mexico 3, China 2 |
| Gallabox | 157 | India 29, UAE 6, Turkey 2 |
| Interakt | 261 | India 61 |
| Mekari Qontak | 63 | Indonesia 33 |
| Spoki | 41 | Italy 5, Spain 2 |
| Blip | 25 | Brazil 10 |
The first group (Salesforce, Manychat, respond.io, SendPulse, Kommo, Twilio) shows up across continents. The second clusters: Weni in Latin America, Mekari Qontak in Indonesia, Spoki in Italy, Blip in Brazil, Wati and Gallabox in India with a smaller presence in the UAE, and Interakt in India alone. Where each one is based, which languages it supports and how it bills are questions for its own website; we didn’t check them for this piece.
Ninety of the 119 companies in our June 2026 copy of Meta’s Business Partner directory leave at least one fingerprint somewhere on .com. The full worldwide ranking is in WhatsApp on websites worldwide.
Chat widgets are a bigger layer than WhatsApp platforms
Generic website chat widgets outnumber WhatsApp platforms on .com about ten to one: 176,536 homepages against 16,762. HubSpot’s chat leads at 62,154, then Tawk.to 46,155, Zendesk 23,932, LiveChat 19,074, Tidio 15,099, Intercom 9,780, Crisp 6,385, Chatwoot 1,923, Freshchat 1,705 and Drift 452. On Indian .in homepages the order flips, with Tawk.to on 2,079 and HubSpot on 386. A widget and a WhatsApp link do different jobs, and the chat widget article covers what each one can and can’t do.
What the counts mean if you’re choosing a platform
Three things follow for a buyer.
Every big market in the scan has its own set of names, so a shortlist built from an Indian comparison won’t match a shortlist for Mexico or Indonesia, and the reverse. Start from the vendors that appear beside your customers’ numbers, then add whoever your peers mention.
The counts are not market shares. India’s top vendor is on 61 Indian-numbered .com homepages; Colombia’s on 36. Vendors quote customer counts far larger than that, and our method can neither confirm nor rule them out, because most customers sit behind plain links. Ask any vendor for three businesses in your trade and country you can message yourself.
The software is one bill and Meta’s messages are another. Meta prices each message by the recipient’s calling code, so the same campaign costs very different amounts in Bogotá and Berlin; WhatsApp API pricing by country has the rate card for 22 markets. Meta’s pricing page lists 16 billing currencies for the Business Platform, so check which one a vendor’s account will use.
An invented example: Rafael Carvalho runs a 14-person pet-supply store in São Paulo. Two competitors’ sites carry a Weni and a Blip fingerprint, and the rest have a bare wa.me button. His shortlist starts with those two and one tool that works across countries. He puts the same questions to all three: price per seat, how many numbers, whether Meta’s charges are billed to his own account, and what he gets back if he leaves. The twelve questions in how to choose a WhatsApp Business API provider work outside India too, and nine WhatsApp marketing tools in India shows how to lay listed prices side by side.
What the scan can’t tell you
- A page belongs to a country because of its WhatsApp number’s calling code. An Indian exporter with a Dubai sales number counts as UAE.
- The set is .com only. Sites on .com.br, .co.id, .mx, .de and every other ending are missing.
- Homepage only, and platform fingerprints undercount. Every count here is a floor.
- Counts are of homepages, not companies, and describe August 2026.
- Common Crawl is a very large sample of the public web, not a census.
Terms such as BSP, fingerprint and click-to-chat are in the glossary. If you sell one of the tools named here and think a count misreads your code, write to us through the contact page with the pattern we should look for, and we’ll re-run the detector and date the correction.
Common questions
What is the most used WhatsApp platform in each country?
By homepage fingerprints on .com sites carrying that country's WhatsApp number in August 2026: Interakt and the AiSensy widget in India (61 each), Mekari Qontak in Indonesia (33), Weni in Brazil (24) and Colombia (36), Kommo in Mexico (18), respond.io in the US and Canada (40), Insider in Turkey (11), and Salesforce in Spain (8) and the UAE (12).
What is the best WhatsApp platform in my country?
Our data can't say which is best. It counts which vendors' code appears on business homepages beside a country's WhatsApp number, and it misses every tool that runs behind a plain link. Use the counts to build a shortlist, then compare seats, numbers, Meta's charges and how you leave on each vendor's own pages.
Which WhatsApp Business API providers are used in Brazil, Mexico and Indonesia?
On .com homepages with a Brazilian number we detected Weni 24, Salesforce 12, Blip 10 and Kommo 9. With a Mexican number: Kommo 18, Salesforce 11, respond.io 10, Manychat 9. With an Indonesian number: Mekari Qontak 33, Salesforce 13, Insider 7, respond.io 6. Salesforce sells far more than WhatsApp, so its code isn't proof of WhatsApp use.
How many businesses use a WhatsApp platform rather than a plain WhatsApp link?
Very few show one on their homepage. Of 8,497,286 .com homepages in our August 2026 scan, 418,944 link WhatsApp with no platform fingerprint and 16,762 carry one. By country, the share of numbered WhatsApp pages with a fingerprint runs from 1.0% in Colombia down to zero in Singapore and the Netherlands.
